There are 6 videos in this training series starting with an introduction and explanation video which you should watch first.

The introduction video is followed by 5 short videos that are dedicated to each exercise, in a FOLLOW ALONG format. Please scroll down for the Introduction and Follow Along Videos.

This series covers the 3 most common grips  Hammer grip, Sabre grip and Ring grip.

Transition methods are shown between the three grips holding the clubs in various positions around the body.

Body Positions for each Grip

Indian Clubs Body Positions for each Grip

Indian Club swinging should always be very fluid, efficient grip changes around the body make this happen.

Third Finger or Ring Finger

The Third Finger is used in everyday life to pick up different objects like cutlery, chopsticks, ball, mouse, gun, scissors, golf club, cricket, baseball, plus many others.

The third finger plays a major role in club swinging, when you use the Hammer and Sabre a grip the Third Finger acts as an anchor stopping the club from flying out of your hand, the finger remains in one spot whilst the other fingers move. The correct position of the Third Finger is at the end of the grip where the ball starts.

The Ring grip relies on the thumb and forefinger, with the palm kept open, however, some movements still need Third Finger activity to help control the club.
